Le Régent’s IB graduating class has done remarkably well! With the cancellation of the IB Diploma examinations this summer, however, a nervous two months awaits. Those who have applied to the USA have the advantage of a guaranteed place and their only challenge is to choose which offers to accept. Full scholarships have been offered at UCLA and to NYU (Abu Dhabi campus). Other students have been accepted at prestigious universities in the Netherlands: Leiden, Amsterdam and Maastricht. For those who favour the UK, the situation is more complex. Two have offers from Oxford, and one from Cambridge. Two others depend on their scores for a place at UCL and Imperial. Under our Director of Guidance, Ms Don-Wider, it looks as though all will have a “home” next year — apart from the two who have opted for a “gap year”.
